Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! It was so nice to have Stephen home and be able to spend a week with him! Beckham sure loves his daddy! Here are some pictures to sum up our Christmas.

 He has started to crawl underneath things...he gets stuck and freaks out. Too funny!

We had a great Christmas!

ONE year old!

I can't believe how fast the time has gone! Beckham is already a year old. I am having trouble importing the pictures to the computer, so I will have to do that later. But for now, here are his stats at his 12 month check-up.

Weight-- 22lbs 11oz (50th percentile)

Height-- 29.5 inches (50th)

Head-- 19 inches (95th)

*He loves loves loves LOVES food. I'm pretty sure he would eat all day if I let him

*He is starting to walk

*He understands a lot of what we say to him (drink some water, close the door, don't touch, etc)

*Has started to say hi

*Usually he still takes 3 naps

*Loves to drink from a sippy cup

*Knows when he is doing something funny

*Gets excited when we go outside

*Still only has 2 bottom teeth (but, his top 2 are about to pop through)

*Sleeps from about 7:30pm-7:30am

He is such a fun and happy boy, especially when he is not sick! It's nice to have him back to normal again!

Rough Week

This last week has been pretty rough! Beckham had a fever the 23rd and 24th. On the 25th we celebrated his birthday with family. We woke up on the Monday, the 26th (Beckham's birthday) and he was sick. He had a nasty cough and a runny nose! We ended up going to doctor just to find out it was a virus and they couldn't do anything to help (surprise!)! He had this little cold the rest of the week. 

On Saturday I woke up with the cold. By Saturday night we thought that Beckham was finally better! When Stephen got him out of bed Sunday after his first nap he had thrown up. :-( In addition to his cold that he wasn't completely over, he now had the stomach bug and all the fun things that go along with it. We went on Monday for his 12 month checkup. He had lost almost a pound in a week. 

All day Monday I was feeling pretty nauseous. (I still had the cold, too) I ended up with the stomach bug Monday evening, and Stephen got it in the middle of the night.  Tuesday we spent all day in bed (the best you can with a year old little boy). I am happy to say that Stephen is now 100% better! Beckham still has a little runny nose but it almost better. And I will hopefully be better in the next day or so! It looks like I just caught exactly what Beckham had, which makes sense since I'm around him 24/7. Luckily the stomach bug was just a 24 hour big that is gone for all of us. I just have a bad head cold now that I am trying to get rid of.

Halloween

 This year Stephen and I dressed up as robbers and Beckham was our little bag of money! Isn't he cute?

We also went to the Walmart trick or treating with Jaclyn and Brekan. Even though the boys are so little, they were still handing us candy cause they had a TON and they wanted to get rid of it!

It's been a few weeks since I've updated....a couple of things that we are up to:

Stephen

 He got his wisdom teeth out. I have plenty of video of him on the drugs (if you want to see it, just ask!) He is still working hard! He also started playing on a kickball team. It's nice to be able to do something fun after work!

Shanda

 I am loving this weather! We are able to get outside more! We went to the park several times last week! I also have started to make things and decorate for fall. I love this time of year!

Beckham

 Can you believe that he is 10 1/2 months old already? He is pulling up onto everything! He LOVES to climb over people when they are laying on the floor. Cabinets and drawers are no longer safe! He opens them all up and pulls everything out! He still loves food! He will eat anything and everything! He even loved the dog food that he found this weekend at my parent's house and cried when we took it out of his mouth! He is also enjoying the weather. As soon as we started walking to the garage he gets super excited cause he knows we are going outside. I love the age that he is right now!

We can officially say that next month he will be a year old! that is so crazy!

9 months!

Wow! Time has gone by so fast! I think I say that almost every post! I can't believe that he is now 9 1/2 months old! He just had his 9 month check up this week. Needless to say, we have a big boy! He is:

24 lbs. (80th percentile)

28 3/4 inches long (50th)

head circumference 19 in (95th)

Our pediatrician said that he can basically eat anything that we are eating and cut back on a lot of the milk that he is drinking. He had eggs and yogurt for breakfast yesterday and LOVED it! He was shoving it in his mouth as fast as he can. We have enjoyed going to the pool this summer. On days when it's not super hot, we go on walks. He loves being outside!

Some things that are new at 9 months:

• waves hi and bye
• has 2 bottom teeth
• started crawling
• gets into EVERYTHING!
• still loves to snuggle
• eats anything we give him
• he is very aware of everything going on
• tries to pull himself up (but was only successful once, so far...)

He is getting to be so much fun. We love making him smile and giggle.

NYC

 Stephen's mom, Dasha, was so nice and took us for a vacation to New York City. We were going to go last year, but plans changed when the hurricane went through and cancelled all the flights. Luckily we were still able to use our flights up to a year later. We went at the end of July. We stayed at The World Center Hotel.  We had such a nice view from our window. We could see the water, the new Freedom Tower, and the 9/11 memorial.

 

We were able to do so much while we were there! It helped that Beckham was such a great trooper! 

Tuesday: we went to Good Morning America, Empire State Building, Central Park and Central Park Zoo, walked around Times Square, and ate at Hardrock Cafe for dinner. 

Wednesday: We went to China Town, Little Italy, Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. It started raining when we were in China Town.  After Brooklyn Bridge we went back to our hotel and we all took a nap. When we woke up it wasn't raining anymore, so we went on the ferry to Staten Island.

 

 

Friday: We went to the Museum of Natural History and spend most of the day there.  We then walked back to Times Square and ate at Bubba Gumps. We had to hurry and eat so Stephen and I could make our Broadway Show "Ghost". Dasha was kind enough to take Beckham back to the hotel and let us go to a show for our anniversary. 

We had such a fun time in NY! We were able to do so much in so little time! Like I said earlier, Beckham was a GREAT traveler.  He only fussed when he was hungry or tired. I think he enjoyed people watching almost as much as I did! :-) NY was a FUN place to visit, but I would NEVER want to live there!

4 years!

I can't believe that we have been married for FOUR years! Time has flown by! I am so glad that he asked and I said yes. We have grown so much these last four years and are happy where we are! Stephen is a great husband and dad!

Mini Vacation

 Stephen took vacation days Thursday (the 5th) and Friday (the 6th). We went up to Branson, MO on Friday morning. We checked into the condo and then went shopping at the outlet mall. When we started getting hungry we went to Lambert's: Home of the Throwed Rolls about 45 min north of Branson. (If you haven't been there, you should go. They throw rolls to you when you want one!) Beckham loves food and he will whine if people are eating around him and he doesn't get to. So, I fed him pieces of banana while we were eating.

On Saturday morning while we were eating breakfast Beckham decided he didn't want to stay in one place. He started scooting backwards. He started where the shoe is, then went to the bags and got his toy and continued moving backwards. I'm not sure if I'm ready for him to crawl!

 After breakfast we made our way to St. Louis. We were able to see the arc. It is amazing!

We went to a Cardinals game. This is a pic of the arc from the stadium. 

It was extremely hot (106 degrees!). Beckham and I had to find some fans for a little bit, but he did pretty good!

After the game we were able to go to the top of the arc. 630 ft up!

Stephen didn't like it so much...but he did look out the window.

 We had dinner with Meagan and Jaron Banks while we were there. Then, we started our drive back to Branson. We didn't get back until almost 2 am! Sunday morning we drove home. It was nice to get away for a couple of days!

4th of July

We enjoyed the Fourth of July! We went down to Fayetteville and went to the lake with my family. I was worried Beckham would cry and be miserable for most of the day with having to wear a life jacket. Well, I was so wrong! He loved being at the lake!

And to top it all off he enjoyed the fireworks that night!

I would say it was a great 4th!
