9 months!

Wow! Time has gone by so fast! I think I say that almost every post! I can't believe that he is now 9 1/2 months old! He just had his 9 month check up this week. Needless to say, we have a big boy! He is:

24 lbs. (80th percentile)

28 3/4 inches long (50th)

head circumference 19 in (95th)

Our pediatrician said that he can basically eat anything that we are eating and cut back on a lot of the milk that he is drinking. He had eggs and yogurt for breakfast yesterday and LOVED it! He was shoving it in his mouth as fast as he can. We have enjoyed going to the pool this summer. On days when it's not super hot, we go on walks. He loves being outside!

Some things that are new at 9 months:

• waves hi and bye
• has 2 bottom teeth
• started crawling
• gets into EVERYTHING!
• still loves to snuggle
• eats anything we give him
• he is very aware of everything going on
• tries to pull himself up (but was only successful once, so far...)

He is getting to be so much fun. We love making him smile and giggle.

NYC

 Stephen's mom, Dasha, was so nice and took us for a vacation to New York City. We were going to go last year, but plans changed when the hurricane went through and cancelled all the flights. Luckily we were still able to use our flights up to a year later. We went at the end of July. We stayed at The World Center Hotel.  We had such a nice view from our window. We could see the water, the new Freedom Tower, and the 9/11 memorial.

 

We were able to do so much while we were there! It helped that Beckham was such a great trooper! 

Tuesday: we went to Good Morning America, Empire State Building, Central Park and Central Park Zoo, walked around Times Square, and ate at Hardrock Cafe for dinner. 

Wednesday: We went to China Town, Little Italy, Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. It started raining when we were in China Town.  After Brooklyn Bridge we went back to our hotel and we all took a nap. When we woke up it wasn't raining anymore, so we went on the ferry to Staten Island.

 

 

Friday: We went to the Museum of Natural History and spend most of the day there.  We then walked back to Times Square and ate at Bubba Gumps. We had to hurry and eat so Stephen and I could make our Broadway Show "Ghost". Dasha was kind enough to take Beckham back to the hotel and let us go to a show for our anniversary. 

We had such a fun time in NY! We were able to do so much in so little time! Like I said earlier, Beckham was a GREAT traveler.  He only fussed when he was hungry or tired. I think he enjoyed people watching almost as much as I did! :-) NY was a FUN place to visit, but I would NEVER want to live there!

4 years!

I can't believe that we have been married for FOUR years! Time has flown by! I am so glad that he asked and I said yes. We have grown so much these last four years and are happy where we are! Stephen is a great husband and dad!

Mini Vacation

 Stephen took vacation days Thursday (the 5th) and Friday (the 6th). We went up to Branson, MO on Friday morning. We checked into the condo and then went shopping at the outlet mall. When we started getting hungry we went to Lambert's: Home of the Throwed Rolls about 45 min north of Branson. (If you haven't been there, you should go. They throw rolls to you when you want one!) Beckham loves food and he will whine if people are eating around him and he doesn't get to. So, I fed him pieces of banana while we were eating.

On Saturday morning while we were eating breakfast Beckham decided he didn't want to stay in one place. He started scooting backwards. He started where the shoe is, then went to the bags and got his toy and continued moving backwards. I'm not sure if I'm ready for him to crawl!

 After breakfast we made our way to St. Louis. We were able to see the arc. It is amazing!

We went to a Cardinals game. This is a pic of the arc from the stadium. 

It was extremely hot (106 degrees!). Beckham and I had to find some fans for a little bit, but he did pretty good!

After the game we were able to go to the top of the arc. 630 ft up!

Stephen didn't like it so much...but he did look out the window.

 We had dinner with Meagan and Jaron Banks while we were there. Then, we started our drive back to Branson. We didn't get back until almost 2 am! Sunday morning we drove home. It was nice to get away for a couple of days!

4th of July

We enjoyed the Fourth of July! We went down to Fayetteville and went to the lake with my family. I was worried Beckham would cry and be miserable for most of the day with having to wear a life jacket. Well, I was so wrong! He loved being at the lake!

 He got to take a nap

And to top it all off he enjoyed the fireworks that night!

I would say it was a great 4th! 

Checking out

Last week I was super sick for 4-5 days! My temp got up to 104! I'll just say it is SOOO nice to be able to eat real food again! 

Stephen is taking the rest of the week off and we are checking out for the weekend. We are going to Branson, MO.  When we get back I will update a little more about Beckham. He is getting so big!

6 months

I can't believe that Beckham has been with us for over half a year! He is 6 1/2 months old and getting bigger every day!  At his six-month appointment he was:

17 lbs. 8 oz. (50 percentile)

26 inches long (30 percentile)

head circumference- 45 cm (75 percentile)

I can't believe how much he has grown! He still LOVES food. He eats oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, and bananas. We've tried giving him avocado a couple of times and he didn't like it!  He sits on his own.  He rolls front to back and back to front.  If I put a toy just out of his reach he tries his hardest to get it, but doesn't get very far before he rolls over.  He takes great naps! He is getting better at sleeping through the night again, even though his new morning is around 5:30 am... He loves baths and being naked. He loves going outside.  He loves being in the car again (I wasn't so sure that would ever happen after our trip to Utah)!  Beckham enjoys playing in his exersaucer. He always notices everything that is going on around him.  He is teething and has been kind of grumpy.  He started putting his bottom lip under his top lip (like in the picture). And, his face COMPLETELY lights up when Stephen comes home from work!
